The Höllkopf is set in the Mieminger mountain range in front of the Grünstein mountain. The tour is perfect throughout the winter season; the difference in altitude of 1,043m may be done in about 3 to 3.5 hours.
The ascent leads past the Lehnberg house towards a place called "Hölle" (meaning: "hell"). Then you climb a steep passage of 400m up the left cirque and reach the Hölltörl (at 2,126m). From there it's not far to the Höllkopf peak. The last 73m you climb up a northern slope.
The downhill run is following the path of the ascent. Depending on snow conditions and temperature you may stay in the shade or enjoy some corn snow on the sunny slopes.
